1. Number of questions
Physics 60 ; Chemistry 60 ; Biology 80
Maximum marks = 60+60+80 = 200.
Marks scored
(one mark for each question)
Phy 42 che 36 Bio 40
Toal marks scored 118
To get pass mark he has to score 120 marks.
So 2 more questions he has to answer to clear the test.

2. Let A and B be the basic pays of A and B respectively. By problem
225% of A = 275% of B
So A/ B = 275/225 = 11/ 9
Required ratio is 11 : 9

3. Let the number z be 100
So x = 75 y = 60
Here (75 - 60)/(75) × 100 = (1/5)×100
= 20.
Hence y is 20% less than x.

4. Let the marked price be ₹ 100.
After discount selling price is ₹ 80
Since he gets 25% profit , the selling price must be ₹125 if cost price is ₹100.
But cost price is ₹ 704
Marked price
= 704 × (125/100)×(100/80)
= 704×(25/16) = 44×25 = 1100
Hence the marked price is ₹ 1100.

5. Single discount equivalent to two successive discounts of 10% and 20% is
x + y - (xy)/100
= 10 + 20 - (10×20)/100 = 18.

So Single discount equivalent to two successive discounts of 18% and 30% is
18 + 30 - (18×30)/100 = 48 - 5.4 = 42.6

6. A got 44% votes means B got 56% votes polled.
Difference between A and B in percentage is 56 - 44 = 12

Here 12% of total votes polled is 2880.
So the total number of votes polled is
(2880/12)×100 = 24000.

7. Let the number be 'x'
Here (3/4)x - 75 = 75
-> x = 200
Hence 200×60÷100 = 120.

8. We can use {(x)/(100+x)} × 100 if increase is given decrease is asked.
Here [25/(100+25)] × 100 = 20%

We can use {(x)/(100-x)} × 100 if decrease is given increase is asked.

9. (20/100)×(40/100)×(80/100)
×80000 = 5120
80% of 80000 = 64000
40% of 64000 = 25600
20% of 25600 = 5120

10. Cost price = 11×60 = ₹660
Good eggs = 11 - 1 = 10 dozen
Selling price = 6 ×10×12 = ₹ 720
Profit = ₹720 - ₹660 = ₹ 60.

11. Net decrease after 30% decrease and 20% increase is
- 30 + 20 + (-30)(20) = -16
Then after 20% increase, the net increase
= - 16 + 20 + (-16)(20) = +0.8
Aliter :
100 - 30 = 70
70 + 20% of 70 = 70 +14 = 84
84 + 20% of 84 = 84 + 16.8
= 100.8 -> 0.8% increase.

12. Let x be the cost price.
100x + x^2 = 5600 ->
x^2 + 100x - 5600 = 0 ->
(x+140)(x-40) = 0 ->
-> x =40
Profit = 56 - 40 = ₹16.

13. Let the marks be m and m+14
Here m + 14 = (64/100)(m+m+14)
-> 25(m + 14) = 16(2m + 14)
-> 7m = 9×14
-> m = 18 and m + 14 = 32

14. Number of participants wear jeans pant
= 500×(4/100) =20
Remaining Number of participants
= 500 - 20 = 480

Percentage of participants not wear jeans pant = 100 - 25 = 75

So Number of participants not wear jeans pant
480×(75/100) = 360.

15. The % of amount spent on industry, agriculture, social welfare and energy is = 31 + 32 + 9 +11 = 83
The remaining amount
= 2100×{1 - (83/100)} = 357
Subtract the amount ₹156 crores spent on transport, we get the amount spent on education
i.e., 357 - 156 = ₹ 201 crores.
